INTRODUCTION

DRIVERS’ BRIEFING: KNOW THE RULES

SAFETY GEAR: HELMET & CLOTHING

Track days are all about having fun and pushing your limits safely. In this section, we’ll cover the key things you’ll need to bring, how to stay comfortable, and the important things to know before you get on track. From safety gear to track etiquette, this guide will make sure you’re fully prepared for the day ahead.

SAFETY GEAR: HELMET & CLOTHING

DRIVERS’ BRIEFING: KNOW THE RULES

SAFETY GEAR: HELMET & CLOTHING

Before getting on track, you’ll need the right safety gear. Helmets are a must and they should be Snell-approved (2015 or newer). You’ll also need to wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes to ensure protection in case of a fire.

- Ensure your helmet is Snell-approved, in good condition, and fits snugly.
- Wear cotton or fire-resistant clothing to minimize risk in case of fire.
- Wear closed-toed shoes (preferably racing shoes, but sturdy sneakers work).

- In some cases, a limited count of  helmet rentals are available at the facility, so it's best to contact in advance to reserve one.

TRACK ETIQUETTE: BE RESPECTFUL AND SAFE

TRACK ETIQUETTE: BE RESPECTFUL AND SAFE

Track days aren’t races, they’re about learning and improving. Practice good track etiquette by staying aware of your surroundings, respecting faster drivers, and following the rules of each session.

Respect other drivers’ space and practice passing etiquette (on designated straightaways).
Don’t race side-by-side; leave space for others to pass safely.
Be aware of flags (yellow, red, etc.) and follow instructions immediately. Track facilities are strict with their regulations. Failure to follow track rules will result in immediate ban from the group and often from the organization.
